I was born in Decatur, Illinois. I am the oldest of three children. I grew up in the middle of corn and soybean fields. Many of my uncles farmed, so at family gatherings I played on combines and tractors. My grandfather made leather saddles, bridles and harnesses. So for me, the smell of a tack room brings back many fond memories of playing in my grandfather’s workshop.
I attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO. I met my husband there and we married a year after graduation. We have three children, two girls and a boy. They are 19, 15 and 7 years old. My youngest, Ashley, attends STLC. My husband, Ari, is trained as a chemical engineer and works in the semiconductor industry.
I have held several jobs in different fields but found my calling when I took a Montessori course here in Phoenix. I completed my AMI certificate in 2001 while I was student teaching. I have been teaching ever since. I love working with the children and seeing their face light up when they are able to master something or get a concept for the first time. This is my fifth year with STLC.
