Hi! I am your child’s lunchroom coordinator. Last year, I helped in the lunchroom, as well as volunteered for many things at school. I was at school so much, that other parents thought I worked there. This year, I have the pleasure to be an employee of the school. I have two daughters, Megan, in Ms. Shaffer’s 1st grade class and Sarah, in Ms. Teresa’s preschool class.
I am originally from Massachusetts and attended Ithaca College and SUNY Plattsburgh, both in NY. I graduated with a Print Journalism degree. In 1994, after college, Andy, and I moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and then to West Des Moines, Iowa for a few years. Our jobs took us to Madison, Wisconsin, Long Island, NY and back to the Des Moines area. We moved to Gilbert in Nov. 2009 (just in time to escape the 80 plus inches of snow in Iowa that year). I love being close to family and the Arizona weather.
I have worked in many different careers through the years, yet, my most important and favorite job is Mom.
Before the girls were born, I really enjoyed, going to movies, reading books, watching tv and going out for dinner. Since the girls came along, I still like these things but really enjoy spending time with my daughters more. We do lots of crafts, reading, sometimes we play the Wii and we really like to go bowling and going to the movies (but now it is kid movies and not the grown up ones I used to enjoy). We still go out to eat, because even though I work in the lunchroom at school, I don’t love to cook. I do like to bake but that is about all I do in the kitchen. We love all things Disney and went to Disneyland for the first time ever in March 2011.
