Hi, I’m Dana Wrede. I am originally from Michigan. I have grown to love the desert, but I do miss the change of seasons. I am the younger of two children. I have an older brother that lives in Peoria with his wife and their son and daughter. My parents are semi-retired and live in Payson. I am very fortunate to have my family living within an hour drive for a visit.
I completed my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I live in Scottsdale with my boyfriend Bill, and my two beautiful children. Nicole is 15 years old and will be a sophomore in high school this year. Parker is 13 years old and will be starting 8th grade. As my children get older our lives become busier, and we treasure our time together. Nicole is on her high school track team and Parker plays club baseball, so watching my children participate in their sports is my favorite thing to do.
Before teaching at San Tan Learning Center I was a reading and language tutor at Steps 2 Success Tutoring Center, a substitute teacher, and a part time employee at Pier1 Imports. I did my interning, practicum hours and student teaching in the Scottsdale School District. I have had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Fourth Grade, and Fifth Grade.
I am very excited to start my third year teaching here at San Tan Learning Center. I am so thankful for the wonderful families we have and how active they are in their students’ education and our school community. I look forward to another fabulous year of first grade and seeing all of the new and the familiar faces from last year!
