My father’s career in the Air Force gave us the chance to live in so many different parts of the world. I was born in Athens, Greece and lived there for almost four years. From there I lived in Maryland, California, and New Jersey. Once I got married I lived in Kansas and Pennsylvania before moving to Arizona.
In 2004, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education is from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. A few years later I went back and earned my Master’s degree in Reading in 2007.
This school year will be the start of my fifth year of teaching. My first year, I taught sixth grade reading at JO Combs Middle School in Queen Creek. Then I moved to Harmon Elementary and taught fifth grade for two years. Last year, I was privileged to be the fourth grade teacher to a fabulous group of students here at San Tan Learning Center. I look forward to my new position as the half day kindergarten teacher and afternoon Title I Literacy Coach.
