Hello San Tan Parents,
Starting in January we are bringing the Art Masterpiece program to San Tan Learning Center and we are in need of parent volunteers. Please consider becoming a volunteer through this wonderful program! My own parents led this program at my school and volunteered in my class when I was growing up, and the knowledge and appreciation I gained for art has stuck with me, not to mention the bonding my parents and I experienced. The kids love it when their parents come present.
For those of you unfamiliar with the program, the Phoenix Art Museum provides the school with a set of educational prints of art to share with the children. A parent volunteer presents a different print to their child’s class once a month and helps the children engage and interpret the masterpiece, then leads the children in creating their own related art project. I just completed an Art Masterpiece training offered by the Phoenix Art Museum to help prepare us, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to get started in my son’s class. I am pumped about this program and the wonderful things I learned!
I am so excited to get this program off the ground. If you would like to volunteer, please contact me at totiffani@gmail.com. You don’t need to be an artist or have a strong understanding of art to participate, just a desire to help enrich your child’s education through art.
Thank you,
Tiffani Harris Nelson
