This week we will be taking benchmarks and map testing. The days will be full and very busy. Each student will be bringing home their research project outline for the learning celebration. Create a poster, book, outline, be creative with the scientific invention. And have fun with it. The class is working on the bodies systems. We are making books and systems in class. Students will finish learning about our new country. The room is filled with work we have been doing. I look forward to seeing everyone at the learning celebration next month. As for home work and spelling this week, check backpacks.
The time has finally come for us to begin our venture into First Grade at San Tan Learning Center. I am extremely excited for this school year, to get to know your child, and to foster his/her love of education and learning! This is such a great time to instill good educational habits and I feel lucky to be a part of building this foundation. Please read through this entire packet, as it is important information for you to know.
A little about myself… I went to college in Iowa, but immediately after college graduation, I escaped the weather and moved to Arizona to begin my teaching career. This is my tenth year teaching at the elementary level, and my second year at San Tan Learning Center. My family lives in Chandler. My wonderful husband, Jeff, and I have a beautiful daughter, Ellie, who is going into second grade. When I’m not at school, or working on things for school, I can be found traveling with my family, reading, eating, having adventures, playing outside, and basically just spending time together.
I am so happy to be here at STLC again this year. I thoroughly enjoy the students, their families, and all of my coworkers. This school has the most amazing environment I have ever experienced in a school and I am so proud to be a part of it.
